Milk adulteration uncovered in Haripur, hundreds of litres destroyed

HARIPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) The authorities on Wednesday seized and destroyed hundreds of litres of adulterated milk after tests revealed the presence of harmful substances, the officials sources said.

The operation took place in the Khanpur tehsil, where Assistant Commissioner Junaid Khalid, accompanied by officials from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Halal food Authority, inspected a cattle farm in the Hattar Industrial Estate.

The milk samples collected during the inspection were found to be contaminated with urea, sodium bicarbonate and detergent powder, according to laboratory reports.

The sources said the contaminated milk was disposed of on site, and the farm manager was arrested. Further legal proceedings are under way.
