MAKKAH / ARAFAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) The grand ritual of Hajj, Waqoof-e-Arafat, is being observed today, May 26, 2026, with profound religious fervor and solemnity as millions of pilgrims from across the globe gather at the plains of Arafat, resonating the air with chants of "Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik."
The initial convoys of Pakistani pilgrims departed for Arafat last night following the Isha prayers. Under the supervision of designated organizers (*Nazimeen*), remaining batches continued to arrive at the holy site throughout the night. Authorities confirmed that all pilgrims are scheduled to reach their designated tents and stations well before the Zuhr prayers today.
Saudi authorities have appointed the esteemed Imam of Masjid al-Nabawi Sheikh Ali Al-Huthaify, as the Amir-ul-Hajj for this year. He is scheduled to deliver the highly anticipated Hajj sermon from Masjid-e-Nimra shortly.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Immediately following the sermon, pilgrims will offer the combined and shortened Zuhr and Asr prayers within the precincts of their respective tents.
Pilgrims will spend the duration of the day until sunset engaged in intense supplications, seeking forgiveness, and offering special prayers (*Munajaat*). The vast plains of Arafat present a deeply spiritual spectacle of global Islamic unity, transcending all racial and national divides.
Immediately after sunset, the pilgrims will begin their departure toward Muzdalifah. There, they will offer the combined Maghrib and Isha prayers and spend the night under the open sky, preparing for the subsequent rituals of Hajj.
On this blessed day of Arafat, Pakistani pilgrims are offering special prayers for the progress, prosperity, peace, and security of Pakistan, as well as for the unity, solidarity, and forgiveness of the entire Muslim Ummah.
