Minister reviews production process of surgical industry

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain visited a surgical instruments manufacturing factory in Sialkot and reviewed various stages of the production process.

During the visit, the factory management briefed the minister on different phases involved in the

manufacturing of surgical instruments.

He closely observed the processes and appreciated the sector’s technical expertise and

production capabilities.

Speaking on the occasion, the provincial minister said that there is vast potential for investment

in the surgical instruments sector. He noted that Sialkot exports surgical instruments to Europe,

the United States, and other international markets, adding that increasing exports could help

generate valuable foreign exchange for the country.

He emphasized that the establishment of a “Surgical City” in Sialkot would facilitate the relocation

and expansion of the industry within a dedicated zone. He assured that serious efforts are underway

to develop the Surgical City and that hurdles in its establishment will be addressed.

He expressed confidence that the creation of Surgical City would significantly boost exports and strengthen the overall growth of the surgical instruments industry in Sialkot.
