MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) In a decisive and well-coordinated move, the City Municipal Corporation on Wednesday launched an extensive drive against stray animals roaming city streets, whereas the initiative aims to address public inconvenience and traffic hazards, furthermore ensuring a cleaner and safer urban environment.

The campaign was initiated on the special directives of Mayor Chaudhry Usman Ali Khalid, who ordered strict action against abandoned cattle across the city, meanwhile directing the Chief Municipal Officer and Municipal Magistrate to implement measures swiftly. The unchecked presence of stray animals had been causing serious issues for pedestrians and motorists alike.

In compliance with these orders, municipal teams were promptly mobilized and began operations in various residential sectors and markets, moreover seizing stray animals wherever found.

Officials stated that legal action will be taken against negligent owners, and confiscated animals will be auctioned under prescribed procedures, ensuring the process is carried out effectively.

Authorities warned that any attempt to obstruct the operation will invite strict punitive action, therefore urging citizens to cooperate fully. The drive is being conducted continuously across all areas of the city, with officials appealing to the public to report stray animals and avoid leaving their livestock unattended, as the initiative is aimed at ensuring a safe and convenient environment for daily life.
