MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) The Local Food Authority has imposed fines totaling Rs. 2.35 lakh on several food production units in Mirpur’s industrial zone for failing to maintain proper cleanliness standards and for illegal labeling practices.
Officials told APP that a surprise inspection team visited various oil and ghee production units in the New Industrial Area, conducting detailed checks of hygiene, production areas, machinery, storage conditions, and labeling compliance.
The inspection team included Food Safety Officers Syed Adnan Ali Naqvi and Shoaib Khurshid, along with Assistant Food Safety Officer Asif Riaz, who oversaw the operation and assessed the units’ compliance with safety standards.
Strict instructions were issued on the spot, requiring the units to immediately improve cleanliness, implement proper hygiene systems, and fully adhere to labeling regulations to avoid further penalties.
