LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Emergency Service commonly known as Rescue 1122 on Wednesday organised mock flood exercises to prepare for any possible flood emergency in the provincial capital.
According to spokesman, Deputy Commissioner Cap (retd) Muhammad Ali Ijaz, along with District Emergency Officer (DEO) Dr. Rizwan Chaudhry, inspected the exercises and reviewed the preparedness of the emergency teams.
During the session, the DEO briefed participants on the use of water rescue equipment and operational strategies being employed by Rescue 1122.
The DC expressed satisfaction over the preparedness of Rescue 1122 and said that the purpose of such exercises was to improve coordination among different departments.
He said that by adopting effective strategies and ensuring inter-departmental coordination, institutions could provide timely relief to affected people during emergencies.
Rescuers and volunteers also demonstrated practical skills, including CPR and provision of first aid to victims at the site.
The spokesman said the exercise showcased professional capabilities in handling emergency situations efficiently.
The drills were attended by representatives of Rescue 1122, the Health Department, Livestock Department, district administration Lahore, and community emergency response teams.
