Modern farming technologies distributed among farmers under provincial initiative

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) The farmers received modern agricultural technologies and support packages under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa District Development Plan (KDDP), the official sources said on Thursday.

The distribution ceremony was held at the Agriculture Extension Department office in Kohat, where Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir attended as chief guest.

Under the initiative, the farmers were provided with demonstration plots for groundnut and sunflower cultivation, walk-in tunnel facilities and vertical farming structures designed to encourage climate-resilient and high-yield farming practices.

The agricultural experts briefed participants on modern cultivation methods and outlined the benefits of walk-in tunnel technology, adding it could help improve efficiency and productivity.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Wazir said the promotion of modern farming technologies and continued support for growers were vital for increasing agricultural production in the region.

He said the government remained committed to strengthening the agriculture sector and would continue prioritising farmer welfare and technological advancement.

Wazir added that improved access to innovative tools and training would help farmers boost productivity and contribute to the district’s economic growth.
