ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hazara Nasir Mahmood Satti on Tuesday said that equipping police with modern technology is essential to improving public service and safety, as he inaugurated the Traffic Shaheen Squad and Traffic First Aid Squad in Abbottabad.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Regional Office Abbottabad and attended by DPO Abbottabad Haroon Rashid Khan, SSP Traffic Muhammad Ishtiaq Khan, and other traffic police officers and personnel.
Addressing the ceremony, DIG Hazara stated that the initiative is in line with the vision of IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed to modernize the police force. He termed the Traffic Shaheen Squad a major step toward ensuring better traffic management, particularly on busy roads, intersections, and near educational institutions.
He explained that the squad will remain on high alert and maintain constant coordination with the control room to ensure immediate response in case of traffic congestion or emergencies.
The personnel have received specialized training to manage traffic flow, guide citizens, and provide assistance in emergency situations.
DIG Satti further highlighted that the Traffic First Aid Squad has been established to save lives by providing immediate medical assistance to road accident victims. He said the squad will ensure quick response at accident sites and timely first aid to the injured, reducing fatalities.
Both squads have been equipped with modern tools including body-worn cameras, respiratory masks, protective glasses, traffic flashlights, revolving lights, traffic signal rods, and first aid kits to enhance operational efficiency.
The DIG also directed traffic personnel to adopt a courteous attitude, emphasizing the principle of “first greet, then speak,” and urged them to perform their duties professionally while respecting the dignity of citizens.
