Modern wastewater treatment plant approved

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) The Punjab government has given final approval for the establishment of a modern wastewater treatment plant in provincial metropolis .

According to official sources, under this project, the target has been set to significantly reduce environmental pollution by cleaning the city's wastewater.

This mega project, costing Rs 52 billion, is being considered one of the largest wastewater treatment projects not only in Lahore but also in the history of Pakistan.

The project has been submitted for inclusion in the annual development program of the next fiscal year.
