Mohsin Naqvi Praises Security Forces for Successful Operation in North Waziristan

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has lauded the security forces for carrying out a successful intelligence-based operation against militant elements in the Spenwam area of North Waziristan, terming it a major achievement in the fight against terrorism.

In his statement, the interior minister paid tribute to the forces for eliminating four militants, including a highly wanted militant commander identified as Umar alias Jan Mir. Naqvi said the killing of the notorious ringleader marks “a significant and exemplary success” in ongoing counterterrorism efforts.

He commended the courage and professionalism of Pakistan’s “brave sons,” noting that the security personnel are fearlessly confronting and dismantling networks of militants who seek to create instability in the region.

Naqvi emphasized that the state remains unwavering in its resolve to eradicate terrorism in all its forms. “Terrorists and their facilitators will not be allowed to regroup or spread their influence under any circumstances,” he asserted.

The interior minister also expressed appreciation for the sacrifices of the security forces, reaffirming the nation’s support for those defending Pakistan’s peace and stability.
