Monsoon preparedness related measures reviewed in South Waziristan Upper

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) The district administration of South Waziristan Upper has intensified its monsoon preparedness by reviewing emergency response measures.

In this regard, a high-level meeting was chaired by Assistant Commissioner Sarwekai, Azmat Ali Khan Afridi, under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Khan.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Assistant Commissioner Sarwekai, Naib Tehsildars of Sarwekai and Tiarza, and Area Muharrars from both tehsils.

The meeting reviewed contingency plans to tackle potential heavy rainfall, flash floods, and other monsoon-related emergencies, with a focus on preventive measures, interdepartmental coordination, and an effective reporting mechanism.

Addressing the meeting, the Assistant Commissioner directed all field officers and officials to ensure strict implementation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government's monsoon Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

He instructed them to maintain continuous monitoring of vulnerable locations, strengthen coordination with relevant departments, and ensure timely and accurate reporting of any emergency situation to facilitate swift administrative action.

He emphasized that protecting the lives and property of the public remains the district administration's top priority.

All concerned officers were instructed to remain vigilant, stay available in their respective jurisdictions at all times, and immediately inform the Assistant Commissioner's Office and the district administration of any untoward incident so that prompt relief and response measures could be initiated.
