DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) The district administration in Tank has stepped up monitoring and preparedness measures amid ongoing monsoon rains, with Deputy Commissioner Jamshed Khan visiting the flood passage at Ghar Baloch to review the developing flood situation.
Accompanied by District Police Officer Abdul Samad Khan, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the flow of floodwaters originating from South Waziristan and assessed the effectiveness of precautionary and safety arrangements at the site.
During the visit, Jamshed Khan directed all concerned departments to maintain round-the-clock surveillance of flood-prone areas and remain fully prepared to respond swiftly to any emergency arising from the monsoon season.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He warned that continued rainfall in South Waziristan could trigger sudden flash floods in Tank district and urged residents to stay away from rivers, streams, and seasonal waterways.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to parents to ensure that children do not go near flood channels or rain-fed streams in order to avoid any untoward incidents.
Reiterating the administration's commitment to public safety, the district administration advised citizens to strictly follow official safety guidelines, exercise caution during the monsoon season, and immediately contact the relevant authorities in the event of any emergency.
