Three people including a young mother, her infant son and a close relative, lost their lives when roof of an old house collapsed during construction work in the area of Jaranwala police station
FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) Three people including a young mother, her infant son and a close relative, lost their lives when roof of an old house collapsed during construction work in the area of Jaranwala police station
Rescue 1122 spokesman said here on Tuesday that the fatal incident occurred in Chak 381-GB Bara Olakh where a family was constructing a room on the rooftop of an existing house when the structure suddenly gave way.
Rescue 1122 teams after receiving an emergency call of roof collapse rushed to the spot and immediately launched rescue and recovery operations.
Initial investigations revealed that construction work on a new room was underway atop the old and redundant building when a wall collapsed, triggering failure of the underlying roof structure. The roof, comprising T-R girders and other construction materials, caved in and crashed onto the room below.

The victims were identified as one-year-old Ali Hassan, son of Mulazam Hussain; 22-year-old Saadia Bibi, wife of Mulazam Hussain; and 22-year-old Rehana Bibi, the child's paternal aunt, wife of Tariq.
Rescue teams recovered the bodies from the debris and secured the area while conducting an assessment of the damaged structure. Area police also reached at the site to monitor the situation and gather information regarding the incident.
Preliminary findings suggest that the collapse occurred due to structural failure in the old building while additional construction was being carried out on the rooftop. However, a detailed assessment would be conducted to determine the exact cause of the accident, he added.
