Mother, stepfather held for childrens' murder

FAISALABAD:

Police have solved a case of murder of two children and arrested their mother, stepfather and another suspect.

A police spokesman said here on Sunday that investigators had solved the murder case of the young brother and sister, Wasif and Fatima, arresting their mother Nusrat Bibi, stepfather Arshad and Naseer for their alleged involvement in the crime.

During investigation, the police found that the deceased children had become upset with the suspects and had shifted with their biological father. The suspects had persuaded the children to return with them after assuring them that no harm would come to them. However, the investigators concluded that the suspects had subsequently murdered the siblings. The spokesman said that preliminary findings had suggested that the suspects had attempted to conceal the crime by portraying the incident as suicide in a bid to mislead law enforcement agencies and evade justice.
