Motorcyclist with Rs100,000 pending e-challans held

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jul, 2026) City Traffic Police Lahore intensified its crackdown on vehicles with outstanding e-challans and apprehended a motorcyclist in Nawan Kot area with pending fines amounting to around Rs100,000, a spokesperson said on Friday.

The spokesperson said Traffic Inspector Nadeem Ullah stopped the motorcyclist during routine checking and found that the rider had accumulated e-challans worth approximately Rs100,000.

The rider, identified as a milk supplier, had reportedly committed 50 helmet-related traffic violations before being apprehended.

The motorcycle was subsequently impounded and shifted to Nawan Kot Police Station.

Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi said e-challans were being issued through the city's Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera system for more than 20 types of traffic violations.

He urged citizens to strictly observe traffic rules and regulations to avoid e-challans and contribute to safer roads in the provincial capital.
