The Hyderabad-based MPAs of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) have raised serious concerns over water shortage, traffic congestion, lack of cleanliness and rampant drug peddling in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) The Hyderabad-based MPAs of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) have raised serious concerns over water shortage, traffic congestion, lack of cleanliness and rampant drug peddling in Hyderabad.
The MPAs Sabir Qaimkhani, Rashid Khan Advocate and Nasir Qureshi raised those issues at a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Zainul Abedin Memon and SSP Shahzeb Chachar here on Friday.
They said the residents of their respective Constituencies continuously complained about those problems which required immediate attention of the concerned government departments.
They deplored that mainpuri, gutka, crystal ice, smuggled Indian gutka and other narcotics substances were being publicly sold in the city.
The MQM-P's MPAs demanded a strong crackdown against elements involved in the sale of such substances which were snatching the future from the young generation.
Although they supported the government's lockdown to conserve energy, the MPAs emphasized that the police and the officials of the district administration should ensure respectable behaviour with the traders.
They also called for equal enforcement of the smart lockdown in all parts of the city, pointing towards complaints that trades and hotels in some parts of the city were allowed to remain open even after the closing time.
The delegation said they were assured that their complaints and recommendations would be addressed.
