PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) KP Minister for Health, Khaleeq Ur Rehman, chaired an important meeting with the Country Head and representatives of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, at the Health Department today. Secretary Health, Shahid Ullah Khan, was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, MSF representatives gave a comprehensive briefing to the minister through a detailed presentation on their ongoing projects and interventions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. MSF, an international humanitarian organization, has been providing medical assistance to populations affected by conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and limited access to healthcare, and has been working in Pakistan since 1986.
It was highlighted that MSF continued most of its regular activities in KP during 2025, particularly its work on Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL) at three key locations: Bannu, Peshawar, and Dogra. The MSF team also informed that the satellite clinic in Badabher has been closed.
The Health Minister appreciated MSF’s significant contributions in various areas, including the CL program, Primary healthcare services, OPD consultations in Tirah, nutritional screening, vaccination, and maternal and child healthcare services at Dogra Hospital, Bara.
He termed these efforts as highly commendable and beneficial for the local population.
Mr. Khaleeq Ur Rehman assured full support and facilitation from the Health Department to further strengthen collaboration with MSF. He emphasized that the government is committed to working jointly with MSF to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services at the grassroots level across the province.
The Minister also assured MSF of the department’s support in addressing key operational challenges, including issues related to NOCs, human resources, and hospital upgradation.
Furthermore, the Health Minister welcomed the expansion of MSF services to other underserved districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where healthcare facilities are limited and much needed.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to enhance coordination and collaboration for improving healthcare delivery and outcomes in the province.
