SANGHAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) Chairman Municipal Committee Tando Adam Ghulam Murtaza Junejo on Tuesday said all necessary arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram have been completed, expressing hope that the sacred days would pass peacefully and safely.
He stated this while presiding over a review meeting regarding Muharram arrangements at the Chairman’s Office. The meeting was attended by Rais Habib Khan Mari, Hussain Abbas Chughtai, Syed Mohsin Ali Shah, Syed Karam Ali Shah, Dr Abid Rasool Hashmi, Chief Municipal Officer Malik Abdul Hameed, HESCO representative Faheem Commando, Tanveer Ranjhani, Ali Buzdar, Younis Khaskhaili and other officials.
Talking to APP after the meeting, Ghulam Murtaza Junejo said that the Municipal Committee, as in previous years, had taken emergency measures for Muharram arrangements. He said sanitation, lighting and other essential facilities were being ensured at all Imam Bargahs and along the routes of mourning processions.
He added that providing better civic facilities to citizens and mourners during Muharram was the top priority of the Municipal Committee. All relevant staff had been put on alert, while the municipal office would remain active for immediate redressal of public complaints.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Speaking on the occasion, head of Safina Ahle Bait (AS) Rais Habib Khan Mari said that the meeting reviewed arrangements related to cleanliness, procession routes and other issues. He appreciated the timely steps taken by the Municipal Committee and said that most of the required work had already been completed, while the remaining tasks would also be finished soon.
He said that district administration, law enforcement agencies and other concerned departments were performing their responsibilities to maintain law and order.
He expressed confidence that with cooperation between institutions and the public, Muharram proceedings would be held peacefully.
Hussain Abbas Chughtai, administrator of Aza Khana Zahra (SA), said that the meeting was held to review sanitation arrangements, procession routes and other facilities during Muharram. He said all institutions were carrying out their duties responsibly.
He said the tradition of mourning had continued for centuries and would continue in the future. He appealed to citizens to immediately inform relevant authorities about any suspicious activity or elements that could disturb peace so that timely legal action could be taken.
