RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) A meeting was held at the office of Assistant Commissioner Murree to review security, administrative, and emergency preparedness arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

The meeting was chaired by Assistant Commissioner Murree, Captain (Retd.) Arshad Iqbal, and attended by officials and representatives from relevant government departments and law enforcement agencies.

Participants discussed in detail the security arrangements for Muharram processions and gatherings, traffic management, sanitation measures, uninterrupted electricity supply, rescue and medical services, civil defense preparedness, and other administrative matters. Officials from various departments briefed the meeting on their preparations and contingency plans.

Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Arshad Iqbal said that maintaining law and order and ensuring a safe environment for citizens during Muharram remained the district administration’s top priority.

He directed all concerned departments to strengthen coordination and communication to ensure the timely completion of all arrangements.

He emphasized the need for foolproof security measures along the routes of processions and at religious gatherings, as well as the availability of rescue and medical teams to respond promptly to any emergency situation.

The Assistant Commissioner instructed relevant departments to maintain continuous monitoring of sensitive locations, effectively implement emergency response plans, and remain fully prepared to handle any untoward incident. He further highlighted the importance of promoting interfaith and inter-sect harmony, tolerance, and brotherhood during Muharram.
