Multan Cantonment lauded for Muharram arrangements

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) Multan Cantonment Board provided extensive facilities to mourners during Muharram al-Haram, particularly on Ashura, drawing praise from community leaders for its arrangements amid intense summer heat.

Acting on special directions from Cantonment Board President Saleem Younus, the administration deployed teams across procession routes to oversee sanitation, road patching, street light restoration and water provision.

Cantonment Executive Officer Sardar Atif Sultan and Additional Cantonment Executive Officer Asif Hayat personally monitored procession routes throughout the day and night, supervising arrangements on the ground.

Muhammad Asif of the Engineering Branch, Sanitation Incharge Habibullah Babar and Coordinator Waqar Khalil also served alongside their teams round the clock.

The board set up drinking water stalls at multiple points along procession routes and arranged fans and other necessities in view of the severe heat, facilities that mourners appreciated.

Member District Peace Committee Muhammad Yaqoob Shera commended the board's performance, saying the spirit of public service, cleanliness and timely provision of facilities had highlighted the Cantonment Board's exemplary role during the religious observance.
