MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Trials for the CM Punjab Inter-Division Hard Ball Cricket Tournament have been successfully
completed in Multan Division under the directions of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab.
The trials were conducted at the Divisional Sports Complex Multan under the supervision of Divisional Sports Officer Atta-ur-Rehman Khan. Selected players from Multan, Vehari, Lodhran and Khanewal districts participated in the process for the formation of the divisional team.
The selection committee included DSO Multan Adnan Naeem as convener, along with DSO Khanewal Muhammad Hafeez, Muhammad Nadeem Iqbal, and Punjab representative Nasir Hussain, who also served as Divisional Cricket Coach. Other officials present included DSO Lodhran Sajid Mahmood, Divisional Coach Shahid Latif, Asad Habib, DSO Vehari Asim Bhatti, Mirza Adnan and coach Subah Habib.
Speaking on the occasion, Atta-ur-Rehman Khan said cricket is one of the most popular sports worldwide and enjoys a massive following in Pakistan. He added that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was actively promoting sports across the province, providing youth with healthy opportunities to showcase their talent.
He said the Inter-Division Hard Ball Cricket Championship is part of these efforts to encourage young players. A final 16-member squad will be announced after mutual consultation, which will represent Multan Division in the championship scheduled to be held in Lahore later this month.
