Multan division's socio-economic registry 85 % complete

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jun, 2026) Multan division was ranked second in Punjab in terms of progress on Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) survey with data of 12.7 million individuals, showcasing significant field progress with over 85 per cent job accomplished.

The performance statistics were revealed in a video link meeting chaired by Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan to review the progress of the PSER survey.

Among the districts, Lodhran emerged as the top performer with 93% completion, followed by Khanewal at 89% and Vehari at 87%. In addition, Jalalpur Pirwala tehsil of district Multan was specifically noted for outstanding figures, achieving an impressive 99% completion rate, placing it among the leading administrative units in the province.

Commissioner Khan directed all departments to ensure completion of the remaining task by June 30. He emphasized the need for focused efforts in areas where survey coverage remains incomplete, including Katchi Aabadis, markets, DHA areas, cantonments, and others.

He further ordered strengthening public awareness by deploying additional manpower where required, and enhance supervision through designated focal persons.

He noted that the remaining approximately 2 million yet-to-be-surveyed population requires intensified attention and better resource allocation.

Deputy Commissioners were also directed to conduct weekly progress reviews and maintain strict monitoring of PSER implementation.

Amir Kareem Khan desired appointment of dedicated focal persons at the district level to improve coordination and accelerate field operations.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Multan Nauman Siddique, Project Director City Development, Punjab Qamar Zaman Qaiserani, Deputy Director Regional Supervisor PSER Muhammad Hasnain Haider, and District Manager Dr. Syed Waqar Shabbir besides deputy commissioners via the video link.

The PSER initiative aims to build a comprehensive socio-economic database to support better governance, targeted welfare programs, and data-driven policy making across Punjab.
