MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) The election committee has announced the schedule for the city’s traders’ leadership elections, with polling set for May 16.

The three-member committee, comprising Mazhar Javed, Shakir Hussain Shakir and Safdar Sarsana Advocate, shared details at a press conference. Traders have been urged to participate in the elections for unity and collective interests.

The deadline for objections to the voter list has been extended to April 15. Objections will be received at the election office in Hassan Parwana Colony between 2pm and 4pm.

Nomination papers can be submitted on April 25, along with a fee of Rs100,000 per panel.

Scrutiny and objections will follow on April 26, while hearings will be held on April 27. Election symbols will also be allotted the same day if more than one panel contests. Withdrawal of nomination papers is scheduled for April 28.

Polling will take place from 10am to 5pm, followed by vote counting and announcement of results.

A code of conduct has been issued, barring the use of political or religious affiliations, personal attacks, and display of weapons. Violations may lead to disqualification.
