Multiple cases regarding PTI founder to be heard in SC on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) The Supreme Court of Pakistan has fixed multiple important cases relating to founder PTI for hearing on

February 18.

A three-member bench, headed by Justice Hashim Khan Kakar, and comprising Justice Salahuddin Panhwar and

Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, will hear the cases.

According to the cause list, the state’s petitions seeking cancellation of bail granted to founder PTI and Bushra Bibi have been scheduled for hearing. The cases involve charges under Sections 420, 468, 471, 109 and 409 of the Pakistan Penal Code, as well as Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947. The Additional Prosecutor General of Punjab will represent the provincial government in these matters.

On the same day, a criminal petition filed by founder PTI seeking suspension of sentence, will also be taken up.

The petition pertains to proceedings against the District Election Commissioner, Islamabad.

The petitioner has contended that while the High Court suspended the sentence, it did not suspend the operative part of the judgment, and subsequently dismissed a correction application, prompting him to approach the Supreme Court.

Furthermore, appeals filed by the Federation of Pakistan against acquittal judgments under the Official Secrets Act are also scheduled for hearing. The Additional Attorney General for Pakistan will represent the Federation.

Two civil matters will also come before the bench, in which PTI founder has challenged interim orders in a defamation suit . The petitions include appeals against the trial court’s refusal to record evidence through a local commission.
