Murder accused gets capital punishment, another jailed

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) An Additional District and Sessions Court on Wednesday awarded death penalty to a man while sentencing his accomplice to three years’ imprisonment in a murder case registered in 2025.

According to the prosecution, Hafiz Abdul Mannan was shot dead by Daniyal in connivance with Ghulam Abbas in Mohalla Azam Wala over a family dispute arising out of a Watta Satta (exchange marriage) arrangement.

Following the incident, Qadir Pur Ran police registered FIR No. 349/25 under Sections 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code and launched an investigation.

The accused were later arrested and, after completion of investigation on solid grounds, police submitted the challan before the court.

After completion of the trial, the court convicted Daniyal and sentenced him to death for committing the murder, while co-accused Ghulam Abbas was awarded three years’ imprisonment for his role in the crime.

The court also directed the convicts to pay compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased. Daniyal was ordered to pay Rs1 million, while Ghulam Abbas was directed to pay Rs200,000 as damages.
