RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2026) In view of expected heavy rain and hailstorms from April 6 to 9, District Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer, has introduced a new “Safe Tourism” plan to protect visitors.
Officials said Murree recorded 60mm of rainfall in the past two days, while more bad weather is forecast in the coming week.
Despite this, a large number of tourists are still arriving. Since April 2, over 9,400 vehicles have entered Murree, showing a steady flow of visitors.
The DPO advised tourists to avoid risky outdoor activities like hiking during bad weather.
Instead, they are encouraged to enjoy indoor activities, local food, and hospitality.
Authorities have also warned people to avoid traveling on mountain roads at night due to fog and possible landslides. Drivers have been told to check their fog lights and park vehicles in safe places to avoid hail damage.
Tourists are further advised to use the “Safe Tourism App” for updates before traveling. The DPO also urged visitors to avoid taking selfies at dangerous locations and follow safety guidelines.
