RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) Thousands of tourists from across the country have flocked to the hill station of Murree during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, resulting in an extraordinary rush.

In response, the City Traffic Police Murree has implemented special arrangements to ensure smooth traffic flow, public convenience, and law and order.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree, Munir Ahmed Hashmi, more than 42,000 vehicles have entered Murree since the first day of Eid.

Despite the heavy influx of tourists, traffic flow on all major roads has remained uninterrupted.

He said that comprehensive measures were being taken under a well-planned strategy to regulate traffic, despite the challenges posed by narrow and two-way roads in the hill station.

A spokesperson for the City Traffic Police stated that CTO Murree Munir Ahmed Hashmi and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Traffic Murree were personally supervising traffic arrangements in the field. They were continuously visiting major roads, intersections, and tourist attractions to monitor the traffic situation.

The CTO urged tourists to avoid double-line driving, illegal parking, and dangerous overtaking. Visitors were also advised to park their vehicles only at designated parking areas to prevent disruption in traffic flow.

He emphasized that cooperation from tourists and citizens was essential for maintaining an effective traffic management system during the busy holiday season.

Traffic police officials further stated that additional personnel have been deployed during the Eid holidays, while continuous monitoring of major roads was being carried out to promptly respond to any emergency situation.

Tourists had been advised to contact the City Traffic Police Murree helpline at 051-9269200 for assistance, guidance, or traffic-related information.
