Mushaal, Iranian ambassador discuss regional situation, push for lasting peace

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Mushaal Hussein Mullick, prominent Kashmiri rights advocate, former Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, and wife of incarcerated Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, met the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan along with her family.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional situation, and efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.

The engagement came amid ongoing diplomatic initiatives in the region and ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram, a period symbolizing sacrifice, patience, and steadfastness.

During the meeting, Mushaal Hussein Mullick emphasized that peace remains the only viable path toward progress, prosperity, and sustainable development.

She said the message of Muharram-ul-Haram teaches humanity the values of sacrifice, patience, perseverance, and service to mankind, principles that are essential for addressing contemporary global challenges and fostering harmony among nations.

Welcoming recent peace efforts between Iran and the United States, Mushaal Mullick described the development as a positive step towards regional harmony and global stability.

She stressed that dialogue, diplomacy, and mutual respect remain the most effective tools for resolving conflicts and reducing tensions around the world.

MS Malik further stated that Pakistan has consistently played a constructive role in promoting peace and stability at both regional and international levels.

She also appreciated the diplomatic efforts of China and Qatar, noting that the international community must continue working collectively to resolve disputes, prevent conflicts, and strengthen prospects for lasting peace.

Reaffirming her commitment to advocating for oppressed people worldwide, Mushaal said she would continue to raise her voice for the rights of the people of Kashmir and Palestine, as well as other communities facing injustice and hardship across the globe.

She called upon the international community to uphold human rights, support peaceful conflict resolution, and ensure that the aspirations of oppressed peoples are not ignored.
