Mushaal Mullick raises alarm over Asiya Andrabi sentence, presses global powers for practical intervention

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2026) A powerful voice of Kashmiris and wife of senior Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, Mushaal Mullick Saturday slammed the life sentence of Asiya Andrabi as a blatant attempt to crush Kashmiri leadership, urging the world to take decisive action and denouncing India’s democracy as a facade for ongoing repression and human rights abuses in Kashmir.

While speaking to a ptv news program Kashmir Voice, Mushaal Mullick raised alarm over Asiya Andrabi’ s life sentence, calling on global powers to intervene before repression in Kashmir escalates and warning that such punitive measures are aimed at crushing Kashmiri leadership.

She condemned recent actions by Indian authorities, including NIA and other unlawful operations, describing them as acts of state terrorism designed to intimidate and suppress dissent, while systematically criminalizing Kashmir’s political and social leadership.

Mushaal Mullick urged the international community to move beyond statements of concern and take concrete steps against these oppressive measures, highlighting that continued silence enables ongoing human rights violations and deepens the crisis in Kashmir.

She held the world responsible for turning a blind eye, warning that continued silence will only accelerate the destruction of the region and its people, describing the life sentence of Asiya Andrabi as not just an attack on one leader but a calculated attempt to drown the entire Kashmiri movement, a scheme she vowed would fail.

Mushaal Mullick slammed the Indian government for imprisoning Yasin Malik, the “Iron Lady” Asiya and others solely for demanding basic rights and exercising freedom of expression, calling it a blatant campaign of repression aimed at crushing Kashmiri resistance and silencing every voice that seeks justice.

She urged the world and human rights organizations to break their silence, take immediate and concrete action, and hold the Indian government accountable, warning that continued inaction only emboldens repression and threatens to destroy Kashmir’s people, leadership and movement for justice.
