MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) In preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, the Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has launched a special cleanliness drive across the city to ensure a neat and hygienic environment for the public.

The campaign specifically focuses on graveyards and places of worship, including mosques, imambargahs, shrines, and cemeteries, to facilitate citizens in performing their worships in a clean and pleasant atmosphere.

Under this initiative, sanitation teams equipped with heavy machinery and additional workforce carried out washing, waste collection, bush cutting, and debris removal operations at various worship places across the city. The comprehensive effort aims to enhance cleanliness standards.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MWMC, Abid Hussain Bhatti visited different areas of the city to inspect cleanliness arrangements, particularly at cemeteries.

He reviewed the cleaning of entry and exit routes, grass cutting, and other sanitation measures to ensure effective implementation of the drive.

Speaking on the occasion, the CEO stated that special monitoring of the cleanliness operation was being conducted during Ramadan. Additional sanitation staff have also been deployed around places of worship during Iftar and Taraweeh hours to maintain cleanliness and provide maximum convenience to citizens.

He emphasized that providing a clean and healthy environment to the public remains the top priority, adding that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
