NA approves Rs 41.65 bln in excess demands for grants for FY2016-17 and 2024-25

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) The National Assembly on Wednesday approved excess demands for grants amounting to approximately Rs 41.65 billion (Rs 41,645,736,989) for the financial years 2016-17 and 2024-25 to meet additional expenditures of various federal ministries and divisions.

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, presented the demands for grants in the House, which were subsequently passed.

The House approved supplementary grants of about Rs 4.

12 billion (Rs 4,125,195,960) for FY2016-17 and Rs 37.52 billion (Rs 37,520,536,029) for FY2024-25.

The grants approved by the House included Pakistan Post Office Department, Communications Division, Petroleum Division, Federal education and Professional Training Division, Superannuation Allowances and Pensions, Foreign Missions, Combined Civil Armed Forces, Law and Justice Division, District Judiciary (Islamabad Capital Territory), and Development Expenditure of Water Resources Division.
