Nasir Shah chairs meeting to review progress on mega projects in Karachi

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Wednesday directed that all ongoing development project within stipulated time frame so that people could be provided relief as soon as possible.

The completion of these projects would significantly improve traffic flow in the megacity, he said while chairing a meeting regarding ongoing mega development projects in the city.

The progress of ongoing schemes, challenges faced and the future course of action were also discussed in the meeting, which was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary Local Govt, along with EA consultants Brigadier Adnan, Fayaz Ahmed, Abdul Ghani Sheikh, Junaid Ahmed, Tanveer Ahmed Khan and other concerned officials.

The meeting reviewed the progress on seven major development schemes, and an effective strategy was devised to ensure their timely completion.

The Minister emphasized that no compromise would be made on quality and transparency in all development projects, and that work must be carried out in accordance with international standards. Matters related to the construction of flyovers and underpasses were also discussed in detail, and it was decided that more bridges and underpasses would be constructed on busy roads to provide a sustainable solution to long-standing traffic issues.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the extensive experience of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is being fully utilized in mega projects, and the role of the armed forces in the city's development is highly commendable.

Nasir Shah said that issues related to the Federal institutions would be taken up with the Chief Minister Sindh, and consultation at all levels would be ensured to promptly resolve any obstacles.
