ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan on Monday said that Pakistan will not compromise on security under any circumstances and that national sovereignty will remain paramount.

In a statement, Jam Kamal said that effective and decisive action against terrorist elements using Afghan soil has become inevitable.

He stated that Pakistan has been presenting evidence and proof regarding terrorism for several years, yet a lasting solution to the issue has not been achieved.

He emphasized that the issue of terrorism must be resolved before enhancing relations with Afghanistan at any level.

He noted that the recent increase in terrorist incidents is deeply concerning, underscoring the urgent need to address the security situation with seriousness.

The Commerce Minister further stated that Pakistan supports dialogue and the promotion of trade and seeks to advance economic cooperation in the region.

However, he stressed that meaningful progress is not possible in the presence of terrorism.

He added that while economic matters are important, national sovereignty and security remain the top priorities and cannot be compromised.
