NCCIA arrests 11 in Punjab

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th May, 2026) The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Punjab has launched a major crackdown against individuals allegedly involved in spreading anti-state propaganda through social media, arresting 11 suspects from different cities across the province.

According to an NCCIA spokesperson, separate cases have been registered against the accused and further investigations are underway. The operations were carried out on the directives of NCCIA Punjab Director Muhammad Ali Waseem.

The agency stated that several individuals accused of running provocative online campaigns against state institutions and inciting unrest among the public had been under surveillance for some time. Following intelligence-based monitoring, raids were conducted in multiple cities of Punjab.

During the operations, three suspects, including Ghaus Siddiq and Azhar, were arrested from Lahore. In Faisalabad, three individuals identified as Zeeshan, Zahoor and Tariq were taken into custody. Four suspects — Asif, Farhan, Sohail and Zubair — were arrested from Multan, while Ejaz was detained from Gujranwala.

The spokesperson said digital evidence and social media records were being collected from the arrested individuals in an effort to trace their alleged networks and online activities.

Director NCCIA Punjab Muhammad Ali Waseem said no leniency would be shown to those involved in anti-state propaganda or attempts to create panic and instability among the public.

He added that the crackdown against such elements would continue and strict legal action would be taken in accordance with the law.
