PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) Key development initiatives focusing on education and infrastructure were inaugurated in Kohat Division on Thursday, aimed at improving facilities and ensuring community welfare.
In Kohat, Chairman DDAC and MPA Daud Shah Afridi inaugurated the new campus of New University School and College Zarra Mela in Union Council Sur Gul Chambi.
The ceremony began with a Quran recitation, followed by a briefing from the school administration regarding academic goals and future plans.
A large number of local elders, parents, students and community members attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Afridi emphasized the importance of education as a key driver of national development, adding that modern educational facilities in underserved areas would open new opportunities for students.
He later toured the classrooms and interacted with students, encouraging them to focus on their studies.
Meanwhile, in Karak, MPA Muhammad Sajjad Barakwal inaugurated a flood protection project involving construction of protective walls along both sides of Alguda in Village Council Bogara.
The initiative is designed to protect local populations, farmland and infrastructure from potential flood damage during heavy rains.
Addressing the gathering, Barakwal said such projects play a vital role in safeguarding lives and property while contributing to long-term development.
He noted that the scheme is part of broader efforts to extend essential services to neglected areas.
Local representatives and residents welcomed the project, expressing hope that it would help reduce flood risks, support agriculture and strengthen the local economy.
