New Rehri Bazaars planned in Dera Bakha, Lal Sohanra to support small traders

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza conducted a detailed visit to the proposed sites for establishing

Rehri Bazaars (organized street vendor markets) in Dera Bakha and Lal Sohanra.

He stated that the establishment of Rehri Bazaars will not only facilitate citizens but will also provide improved

livelihood opportunities for small traders, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the local economy.

Assistant Commissioner Saddar Hamza Ehtisham, the Chief Officer of the District Council, and the Sub-Divisional Officer of the Parks and Horticulture Authority accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.

During his inspection in Dera Bakha, the deputy commissioner reviewed the land allocated for the proposed Rehri Bazaar and directed the concerned officials to begin practical work on the project at the earliest.

He instructed that tough tiles should be installed at the site to ensure durability and maintain cleanliness. He also emphasized the need for proper shaded areas for vendors and customers to protect them from extreme heat and adverse weather conditions.

Later, the deputy commissioner visited Lal Sohanra to examine the proposed location for another Rehri Bazaar.

He directed officials to complete the planning process promptly so that small vendors can be provided dignified livelihood opportunities and citizens can conveniently access affordable and quality food items at a single location.
