ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) The newly-elected office-bearers of the Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) took oath at a ceremony held at Pakistan sports board (PSB) in Islamabad on Monday.
Secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, administered the oath to the newly-elected officials and assured full support for the promotion and development of chess in the country.
According to details, Zeeshan Naqvi was sworn in as President of the Chess Federation of Pakistan. Other office-bearers who took oath included Anwar Saleem as Senior Vice President, Agha Wasim as First Vice President, and Muhammad Wasim as Second Vice President.
In addition, Inamullah took oath as Third Vice President, while Gohar Iqbal assumed the office of Secretary General.

Addressing the ceremony, Mohyuddin Wani said the government would extend every possible support to promote chess across Pakistan. He emphasized that the country possesses immense talent in the sport and stressed the need to provide players with greater opportunities to showcase their abilities.
The ceremony was attended by officials, players and members of the chess community, who expressed optimism that the newly-elected leadership would work effectively to strengthen and expand the sport at the national level.
