NGC completes pre-Ramazan maintenance

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) The National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) has completed a series of planned maintenance activities at transmission facilities, reinforcing the reliability of the national grid ahead of Ramazan and the approaching summer season.

The work, carried out by NGC's Asset Management teams across the country, focused on critical infrastructure upgrades at several high-voltage grid stations, NGC spokesperson Muhammad Ibrahim confirmed this to media here Wednesday.

NGC teams completed busbar maintenance at 500kV Nokhar Grid Station, circuit breaker overhauls at 220kV Kala Shah Kaku Grid Station and on-load tap changer servicing on a 250 MVA autotransformer at 220kV Sarfraznagar Grid Station. Overhauling of on-load tap changer on a 160 MVA autotransformer was also carried out at 500kV Jamshoro Grid Station.

"Planned maintenance is the most effective tool we have for preventing unplanned outages. By completing this work in advance of Ramazan, our teams have helped ensure that consumers can count on a stable and uninterrupted power supply during a period when it matters the most," he explained.

Furthermore, he said, NGC management has assigned special responsibilities to General Manager (Asset Management) North, Engr. Anees Ahmed and General Manager (Asset Management) South, Engr. Muhammad Rafiq to ensure that the ongoing maintenance programme across the country is completed in a timely, high-quality and safe manner.

NGC carries out scheduled maintenance throughout the year as part of its ongoing commitment to safe, reliable transmission service for consumers and distribution companies across the country.
