ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) regularly organizes monthly online Khuli Kachehri sessions to ensure the timely resolution of issues faced by the public and employees, as well as to promote direct communication.

In this regard, Deputy Inspector General (DIG Operations), Motorway Police, Asghar Ali, participated in a live online Khuli Kachehri broadcast through FM 95 Radio Station and the official NHMP Facebook page, said a press release.

During the session, the DIG listened to complaints, issues, and suggestions from citizens and employees through live calls and issued immediate instructions to the concerned officers for prompt resolution. Appreciating the constructive feedback from the public, he stated that public opinion plays a vital role in institutional improvement.

DIG Asghar Ali highlighted that the Motorway Police is actively working to ensure safe and comfortable travel on national highways and motorways through effective strategies, professional expertise, and modern technology.

He added that the department remains committed to accident prevention, enforcement of law, and facilitation of commuters around the clock. He urged citizens to strictly follow road safety principles, respect traffic laws, and adopt careful driving practices.

Transporters were advised to ensure the hiring of qualified and experienced drivers for public service vehicles. He emphasized that fatigue during long routes increases the risk of drowsiness; therefore, the presence of two drivers for long-distance travel must be ensured.

He further advised motorists to use quality tyres and always check the expiry date before purchasing. He informed that, in line with the directions of the Federal government, the Motorway Police has reduced speed limits on national highways and motorways under austerity measures to promote fuel efficiency and road safety. Awareness campaigns are also being conducted through toll plazas, mobile education units, and social media to ensure compliance with the revised speed limits. He stressed avoiding over-speeding and ensuring adherence to prescribed speed limits.

He also noted that the Motorway Police Driving License Authority issues licenses only to competent individuals, urging citizens to properly learn driving before applying for a license. In conclusion, DIG Asghar Ali termed the online Khuli Kachehri as an effective platform for direct public engagement, prompts grievance redressal, promotes transparency, and improves access to senior officials.
