Niall Horan reflected on his past medical history, saying that he underwent reconstructive knee surgery in 2014

DUBLIN: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 26th, 2026) Irish singer Niall Horan has opened up about a long-standing health issue affecting his joints during a recent interview on The Zach Sang Show. The 32-year-old former One Direction star revealed concerns over his knees and hips, suggesting that his condition may worsen with age.

Niall Horan reflected on his past medical history, noting that he underwent reconstructive knee surgery in 2014. “My knees are completely shot, and now my hips are starting to give out too,” he said. He added that his joint problems may have a genetic basis, explaining, “I think I was just genetically predisposed from birth.”

The singer expressed fears that he may eventually require hip replacement surgery, drawing parallels to his father, who recently had a knee replacement and two hip surgeries. “My dad is 66. He’s just had a knee replacement, had a hip done 18 months ago, and now he’s getting another hip,” Horan said.

When reminded that he is only half his father’s age, he replied, “I know, but it was clearly in there.”

In the interview, Horan also praised the support of his girlfriend Amelia Woolley, who has been a steady presence throughout the release of his latest album, Dinner Party. He revealed that she was deeply affected by the more emotional tracks on the album, admitting, “She did a lot of crying.”

In a separate interview with GQ magazine, Horan spoke further about Amelia, whom he has been dating since 2020. He described her as a supportive partner, saying, “Having someone to talk to, rant with, and listen to is huge. I’m glad I found it. She’s amazing and independent, and I love the life we’ve built together.”

Horan’s candid revelations highlight both the personal challenges he faces and the strong support system that has helped him navigate his career and health struggles.
