Nine arrested in DIKhan Police crackdown, arms and drugs recovered

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Police in Dera Ismail Khan carried out multiple successful operations, arresting nine suspects involved in crimes ranging from illegal arms possession and drug trafficking to murder and robbery, police spokesman said on Wednesday.

According to police spokesman, acting on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed, separate search and strike operations were conducted under the supervision of SP City Muhammad Nauman and other senior officers.

During an operation by University Police Station, four suspects were arrested and weapons and narcotics were recovered from their possession, including pistols, ammunition and 410 grams of hashish. Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.

In another development, Dera Town Police solved a blind murder case using modern investigative techniques and arrested the accused, identified as Karamatullah, along with the murder weapon.

Meanwhile, Paharpur Division Police arrested three members of a gang involved in multiple robbery incidents. Police recovered two stolen Mazda trucks, 14 cattle, cash amounting to Rs420,000, three mobile phones and weapons used in the crimes. The suspects were shifted to jail and further investigations are in progress.

Separately, City Circle Police arrested a notorious drug dealer, Abdul Rasheed alias “Sheeda”, in an injured condition after an exchange of fire in Indus Colony. The accused, who was wanted in multiple cases, was shifted to hospital for medical treatment.

Police officials reiterated that indiscriminate actions against criminal elements would continue to ensure protection of life and property of citizens.
