PDMA confirms victims include men, women, and children.
PESHAWAR: Heavy rainfall in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has resulted in the deaths of at least nine people, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The deceased include five men, two women, and two children, highlighting the severe human toll of the ongoing weather system.
The intense downpour also caused property damage across multiple districts. At least four houses were affected, with three partially damaged and one completely destroyed.
The incidents were reported from Dera Ismail Khan, Upper Dir, Kohat, and Orakzai, where emergency response teams have been deployed.
Rescue 1122, district administrations, and relevant authorities are carrying out relief and rescue operations to assist affected families and assess further damage.
The Director General has directed officials to ensure the immediate provision of relief supplies and to further accelerate ongoing rescue efforts in vulnerable areas.
Authorities have also issued an advisory urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from high-risk and tourist-prone locations amid continued adverse weather conditions.
Residents seeking emergency assistance have been directed to contact the PDMA helpline at 1700.
