Nine shops sealed for violating business hours

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The district administration on Monday intensified enforcement of the Punjab government’s smart lockdown policy,sealing nine shops for violating prescribed business hours in Sargodha.

According to an official spokesperson,four shops were sealed in Bhalwal and five in Sargodha city for non-compliance with the notified timings.

Under directives of the Punjab government,inspection teams led by Deputy Commissioner(DC),Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhary conducted monitoring of markets to ensure strict adherence to business hours.

Assistant commissioners,police and paramilitary personnel carried out daily evening inspections after 8pm to oversee timely closure of commercial outlets.

The administration stated that around 95 per cent of traders were complying with the orders,which require shops to close by 8pm while restaurants and hotels must shut down by 10pm.

The DC warned that no negligence would be tolerated in implementing government directives,adding that action against violators would continue without discrimination.
