ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) in collaboration with the China Media Group(CMG) is set to organize a special event on Thursday (April 23) to mark 'World Book Day'.
Titled “Understanding Our 75 Years,” the event will be held at the premises of the NLPD with an aim to highlight literary and cultural ties, as well as shared historical perspectives.
The programme will feature recitation from the Holy Quran and the national anthems of Pakistan and China, followed by opening remarks from Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Director General of the NLPD.
A welcome address will be delivered by Wang Lei, Director of CMG.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute, will attend the event as chief guest, while Farah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary at the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, will preside over the session.
The event will also include speeches by prominent speakers from media, academia, and policy circles, including Rebecca Abdul, Karim Ahmad, Sadia Haider, Bilal Junjua, and Dr. Hassan Daood Butt, who will share their thoughful insights on literature, cross-cultural engagement, and evolving global narratives.
