ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Mar, 2026) In a high-stakes and intense operation, a notorious wanted criminal was decisively killed during a police shootout conducted by the Crime Control Department (CCD) Punjab within the jurisdiction of Saddar Attock Police Station on Tuesday.

According to official sources, the accused, Muhammad Waseem, had been widely sought in multiple serious cases, including vehicle theft and drug trafficking spanning Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Attock. Moreover, police revealed that the suspect had previously been arrested in connection with a 2026 vehicle theft case in Taxila but had boldly escaped from custody during physical remand from CCD Rawalpindi.

However, during a carefully-planned operation to re-arrest him, the suspect allegedly opened fire on the police team, prompting an immediate and forceful response. The exchange of gunfire resulted in the suspect being killed instantly, bringing an end to his alleged criminal activities.

Meanwhile, authorities have actively launched a search operation to apprehend his accomplices, furthermore intensifying investigations to dismantle the broader network linked to the suspect. Officials emphasized that operations will continue vigilantly to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law.
