ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) The National Paigham-e-Aman Committee (NPAC), has established a dedicated nationwide helpline to facilitate the timely reporting of any untoward incidents during Muharram-ul-Haram as part of its efforts to maintain peace, harmony and public safety across the country.
The committee said the helpline would serve as a direct communication channel for citizens, religious leaders, organizers of Muharram processions and volunteers to promptly report any security concerns, law and order issues, incidents of religious intolerance, or attempts to incite sectarian hatred.
According to NPAC, the initiative has been launched in close coordination with the Ministry of Interior, provincial governments, law enforcement agencies and religious scholars representing various schools of thought to ensure swift response and effective coordination during the holy month.
Prime Minister's Coordinator for the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee and Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity or attempts to disrupt peace through the dedicated helpline.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He emphasized that safeguarding peace during Muharram-ul-Haram is a collective national responsibility and called upon scholars, community leaders, volunteers and citizens to promote unity, tolerance and mutual respect while rejecting all forms of sectarianism, hate speech and misinformation.
Ashrafi said the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee would remain in continuous contact with Federal and provincial authorities throughout Muharram to help resolve issues promptly and ensure the peaceful observance of religious gatherings across the country.
The committee appealed to the public to cooperate fully with the administration and law enforcement agencies and to refrain from spreading unverified information on social media that could undermine public order or religious harmony.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to promoting national unity, interfaith and inter-sect harmony, and ensuring a peaceful environment during Muharram-ul-Haram throughout Pakistan.
