Ombudsman Punjab secures Rs.18.5m GP fund relief for 30 citizens

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has secured relief worth over Rs.18.5 million in pending General Provident (GP) Fund dues for 30 complainants across the province,officials said on Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson for the Ombudsman,the affected citizens had approached the office after facing prolonged delays and non-payment of their dues by relevant government departments.

Taking immediate notice of the complaints,the Ombudsman Punjab directed the concerned authorities to expedite resolution of the matter,resulting in the release of the outstanding amounts.

The spokesperson said the institution remained committed to safeguarding citizens’ rights and ensuring transparent,efficient and prompt resolution of public grievances through proactive intervention.

The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction over the timely action,terming the resolution effective and responsive and appreciated the role of the Ombudsman office in securing long-pending payments.
