One dead, 16 injured in two separate road accidents in Haripur

HARIPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2026) At least one person was killed and 16 others injured in two different traffic accidents reported in Haripur district on Sunday.

The first accident occurred on the Hazara Motorway near Kot Najibullah Interchange, where a Toyota Hiace collided with a truck. The Hiace was carrying tourists returning from Gilgit after a sightseeing trip, heading towards Rawalpindi and Lahore.

According to Rescue 1122 Haripur, the collision resulted in 15 people injured and one person dead.

Rescue teams, under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Zahir Mian, promptly reached the scene and provided initial medical aid before shifting the victims to the Trauma Centre.

Motorway Police and Frontier Works Organization (FWO) personnel also assisted in the rescue operation.

In a separate incident on Sarikot Road near the Afghan Camp, a wild boar suddenly collided with a rickshaw, injuring 39-year-old Numan, a resident of Kals. Rescue 1122 medical teams arrived quickly and provided on-spot treatment to the injured person.

Rescue 1122 Haripur has appealed to drivers to remain vigilant and follow traffic rules, especially on highways and rural roads, to prevent such mishaps.
