One killed, 43 injured as devotees’ vehicle overturns near Fateh Jang

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2026) One person was killed and 43 others sustained injuries, including 13 critically, when a dumper carrying devotees overturned on Jhang Road in the jurisdiction of Fateh Jang, near Attock, during the early hours of Sunday.

According to Rescue 1122 and hospital sources, the vehicle was heading towards the shrine of Prem Nagar Faqiran Wali Sarkar when the driver lost control, causing the dumper to overturn. Most of the victims were reported to be between 20 and 30 years of age.

Upon receiving information about the accident, Rescue 1122 dispatched three ambulances to the scene and launched an immediate rescue operation. Rescue personnel provided first aid to the injured before shifting them to Wah General Hospital for treatment.

The body of the deceased was recovered from the wreckage and transferred to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Fateh Jang.

Hospital sources said that all 43 injured persons were brought to Wah General Hospital, where 13 were found to be in critical condition due to severe head injuries. They were later referred to hospitals in Rawalpindi for specialized treatment. Several other victims suffered fractures and injuries to their limbs.

The overturned vehicle also blocked the road for several hours, causing significant inconvenience to devotees and other travelers. Local residents complained that the delayed removal of the wreckage disrupted traffic and left many passengers stranded for an extended period.
