One million saplings to be planted in a single day under province-wide greening campaign: Taj Muhhamad Tarand

BATTAGRAM, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Muhammad Khan Trand, has said that turning the province green and lush is among the top priorities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

Speaking during the inauguration of the province-wide tree plantation campaign, the Advisor stated that this campaign is not merely a symbolic activity but a serious and sincere effort to provide a safe and clean environment for future generations.

He further revealed that under this historic campaign, the target has been set to plant one million saplings in a single day. This ambitious target, he said, will not only set a unique record but will also play a vital role in reducing the effects of climate change.

Taj Muhammad Khan Trand particularly called upon the youth, students, and local communities to actively participate in this national duty and play their practical role in making their areas green and beautiful.

Deputy Commissioner Battagram Ishtiaq Ahmed assured full support from the district administration, saying that all available resources are being utilized to make the campaign a success. He added that large-scale tree plantation activities are already underway at various locations in the district.

The tree plantation campaign is being carried out jointly by the district administration and the Forest Department. It is considered an important and effective step towards eliminating environmental pollution, mitigating the adverse impacts of climate change, and establishing a balanced ecological system.
